In 1965 The Sindy Club was launched, at a cost of 3s that's a pricely sum of 15p in todays money, and was only available within the UK
A welcome pack was sent to each new member, a 'gold' effect double sided Sindy Medallion on a long chain, membership scroll and newsletter were included.
In 1968 the cost had risen to 3s 6d that's 17.5p today and the medallion was superceded by a 'gold' brooch on a safety pin, a membership card and newsletter.
The Sindy Club was later to be run in conjunction with a popular girls comic June and Schoolfriend. A letter and and a copy of the first page from June and Schoolfriend was received by each member introducing 'Sindy's Diary and Club News, which appeared in the comic each week.
Gifts that were once given as competition prizes were available for members to purchase, a Sindy headscarf cost 6/-, and two hankies sealed within a packet were 2/9d, or for the cost of 7/6d you could purchase both. The Dolly Beats record was also still available to purchase at 2/6.
In March 1972 *Super News for club members* Every month a lucky club member will be sent a fabulous birthday cake, if anyone was a lucky recipient I would be delighted to hear from you. Club members also received a Christmas card.
Sadly, Rovex closed the club in June 1973, apparently Sindy was on a trip around the world, holding dress shows in many different capitals!
